Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding given to schools in England to help disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. In 2023-24, the amounts allocated broke down as follows:

Pupils in year groups Reception to Year 6 recorded as Ever 6 Free School Meal £1,480
Looked After Children (LAC) defined in the Children Act 1989 as one who is in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English local authority £2,570
Children who have ceased to be looked after by a local authority in England and Wales because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order £2,570
Service children Pupil premium per pupil
Pupils in year groups Reception to Year 11 recorded as Ever 6 Service Child or in receipt of a child pension from the Ministry of Defence £340

PE & Sport Premium

PE and sport matter a lot to us at The Rookeries; they make an important contribution to health and wellbeing. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and opportunities for sport outside of school hours have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.

The DfE awards each primary school in England an annual amount of £16,000 plus an extra £10 per eligible pupil to help fund PE and sport. You can learn more about this funding here and by clicking on the following reports to find out what we have been doing with it at The Rookeries:
