Data Protection & Freedom of Information

Data Protection

Pontefract Academies Trust is the ‘data controller’ for the purposes of data protection law.

Under data protection law, individuals have a right to be informed about how the Trust and its schools use any personal data that we hold about them. We comply with this right by providing ‘privacy notices’ (sometimes called ‘fair processing notices’) to individuals where we are processing their personal data.

Our privacy notices (which can be found on the links below) explain how we collect, store and use personal data about the range of people associated with our organisation.

Individuals have the right to obtain confirmation that their data is being processed. They also have the right to submit a Subject Access Request (SAR) to gain access to their personal data and verify the lawfulness of processing.

If you would like to make a Subject Access Request please email dpo@patrust.org.uk

Please refer to the attached guidance before making a request: https://ico.org.uk/your-data-matters/your-right-of-access/

Individuals also have other rights in regard to the data we hold about them and these are set out in our Information Policy and Privacy Notices. If you wish to exercise any of these rights please refer to the policy and contact schoolrecords@rookeries.patrust.org.uk

  • Public authorities are obliged to publish certain information about their activities; and
  • Members of the public are entitled to request information from public authorities.

For further information please refer to our Information Policy linked above.
